Canadian Inherited Marrow Failure Registry
Inherited bone marrow failure syndromes are genetic disorders with varying defects in the production of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, leading to anemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia and pancytopenia.
Some of the inherited bone marrow failure syndromes are associated with the development of myelodysplastic syndromes, leukemia and solid tumours.
The Canadian Inherited Marrow Failure Registry (CIMFR) is a non-profit registry. It has created an important collaborative panel focused on these disorders. It's goal is to collect information, blood and marrow samples, thus to advance the understanding of these syndromes, promote research and establish standards of care.
