Centre Leadership
The centre has two leaders who represent the multidisciplinary and multifocal clinical and research strengths and interests of the SickKids pain community. Together they promote collaboration between basic and clinical scientists, clinicians and educators who exemplify pain activities at SickKids.
Co-Leaders of the Pain Centre:
- Dr. Fiona Campbell, Anesthesiologist, Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesia, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
- Dr. Bonnie Stevens, RN, PhD, Signy Hildur Eaton Chair in Pediatric Nursing Research & Associate Chief of Nursing Research and Professor, Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
Centre Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee provides senior support for strategic direction and priority setting to the Centre. The Executive is responsible for ensuring accountability and transparency in operational management, finances and resource allocation. Representing Clinicians, the members include senior representatives from the Departments of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics and Nursing and Interprofessional Practice. The Associate Chair of Education, Department of Paediatrics, Director of the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain (UTCSP), Research Institute and the CHS Director for the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine complete the membership of the Executive Committee.
Centre Advisory Committee:
The Advisory Committee will provide support and pain expertise to the Executive Committee. These members will represent the core clinicians, educators and researchers of Pain Management at SickKids as well as at least one external member. This committee will be instrumental in determining and articulating the pain agenda for identifying issues for discussion with the Executive Committee. The process of selecting Advisory Committee members is currently underway.
