Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease in which the body cannot make energy from food as it should. This is because the body doesn’t produce enough insulin, or else the insulin produced is not working properly. The first problem is called type 1 diabetes, and the second is type 2 diabetes. Most children with diabetes have type 1 diabetes. There several early symptoms that suggest a child might have diabetes. They include frequent peeing in large amounts; thirst; dry mouth or throat; weight loss; increased appetite; feeling tired or weak; and in babies and toddlers, diaper rash that does not improve with medicated cream. |
