  2. Capacity Building: To make important and sustainable contributions to the design and teaching of research methodologies to fellows, graduate students and clinician scientists.
  3. Networking: To promote collaborative network and partnership with local, national and international groups of similar interests and focus.

Specific Aims

  1. To work on methodological research innovations for the study of complex interactions among biological, environmental, social and behavioral factors and how they affect disease process, health outcomes and responses to treatment.
  2. To promote interdisciplinary research interactions among different scientific disciplines and improve appreciation and opportunities offered by distinct methodologies.
  3. To promote the application of innovative statistical and epidemiological methodologies in health research.
  4. To develop analytic and computational approaches to address common problems including multiple testing, missing data, small-sample size, spatiotemporal variation and hierarchical data.
  5. To implement and disseminate newly developed methodologies to the research and scientific communities.
  6. To build methodological research capacity and promote proper use of statistical and epidemiological methods by offering methodological workshops and short courses.
  7. To establish local, national and international network of collaborators that have similar research and educational focus.
