BMU Journal Club
The Biostatistics Methodology Unit hosts a monthly Journal Club that allows faculty, students and guests to meet over lunch and discuss cutting-edge methodological issues. The Journal Club usually focuses on the discussion of a current paper from the biostatistical or epidemiological literature, but has also served as a forum for presentation of work in progress. Recent topics of discussion have included the use of structural equation modeling in biomedical research; the use of indicator variables for control of confounding; Bayesian methods for clinical trials; and statistical issues relevant to gene array technologies.
