Greg Madeley, Founder and Managing Director, Hands across the Nations (HATN)

After travelling to Bolivia, Greg was inspired to join the global fight against poverty utilizing a practical aid approach. His passion for sustainability through affordable healthcare, education and clean water are the core focus of HATN.

HATN is a Canadian registered grassroots charity that has evolved into to a hands-on humanitarian organization which is operated by a network of committed volunteers who share a common goal of wanting to make a difference. HATN achievements include:

  • SA Dental Centre, Bolivia - services over 300 children per month in the slums of Cochabamba.
  • Quelcata Schoolhouse, Bolivian Mountains - built a level of trust within the community and is currently working with local leaders to improve sanitation, clean water and preventative health education.
  • Mana Community Health Centre, Mali - designed for a small rural community and services over 10,000 people while helping to battle malaria, malnutrition and dysentery.

The Global Health Discussion Forum is a monthly for gathering for members of the health care and educational communities, including physicians, nurses, researchers, teachers, students and others interested in global health. Founding members include the Peter A. Silverman Centre for International Health (Mt. Sinai Hospital) the Centre for International Health, Dalla Lana School of Public Health (University of Toronto) and SickKids International, The Hospital for Sick Children.
